12-Count 3.25-Oz Snack Pack Pudding Cups (Chocolate and Vanilla)

Typical chocolate pudding ingredients are: sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, a little bit of cornstarch, a dash of salt, milk, and vanilla extract, not listed in order of prevalence, but the 2nd ingredient in the recipes I found is the cocoa powder, and a lot of milk.
The following ingredients are listed in order of predominance. This product contains 5 ingredient before you get to the cocoa. More water than milk, more cornstarch and more palm oil than chocolate.
Chocolate Pudding Ingredients:
1) Water,
2) Nonfat Milk,
3) Sugar,
4) Modified Corn Starch,
5) Palm oil,
6) Cocoa (Processed with Alkali),
Less than 2% of:
7) Salt,
8) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate,
9) Natural and Artificial Flavors.
This product like the above, but contains no actual vanilla in its “vanilla” pudding, not to mention the food coloring. Also, sodium stearoyl lactylate: “Sodium stearoyl lactylate is a food additive used to improve the texture and volume of processed foods …”, so you’re paying for a food additive to “improve the volume.”
Vanilla Pudding Ingredients:
1) Water,
2) Nonfat Milk,
3) Sugar,
4) Modified Corn Starch,
5) Palm Oil,
Less than 2% of:
6) Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate,
7) Disodium Phosphate,
8) Natural and Artificial Flavors,
9) Yellow 5,
10) Yellow 6.
