Recycled materials cut Polestar’s emissions per car by 25%

The polyester has reduced the emissions of every electric car generated by 2020-and has done so without radical technologies or materials instead of targeting “low execution fruits”.

Talking to Autocar before publishing the latest stability report of the polyester, Polystar Sustainable Boss Frederica Clearin explained how the Polystar now has a significant reduction in CO2 angry with Gaohar due to how the material of the source is now substance.

Since the start of the production of polyester 2 in 2020, it has changed from traditional sources of aluminum and steel to metal, which has either been recycled or smelled using renewable electricity.

According to the pool star, these two materials are responsible for about 45 45 % of the 2 greenhouse gas emissions, so offer important opportunities to reduce its environmental impact.

The Swedish company also started using renewable energy in its factories. And the latest, now the maximum performance of the Rear Wheel Drive 2 reduces the emission of some.

“Many voices want to talk about how it is technically ineffective or financially baseless,” said Klein. “

He added that despite these “low execution fruits”, “there is still progress”.

For example, the company’s plan to make a neutral car by polyester Zero-2030 recently identified a possible reduction of 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions in steel and aluminum sourcing.

Klein continued: “Recycled material: It’s not rocket science, okay?

“Hopefully we can really guarantee that these solutions can be used as soon as possible.

“When we went to the Polistar Zero Project, we had a 2020 version of Paul Star 2 as a base car. The car had a 26.1 tonnes of carbon, and if we use the solutions that I have now talked about, we will reduce it to 16 tonnes.”

Pursuing such efforts means that the pool star is now improving its former predictions for fully decorating its cars by 2040. Kláren.

“Today an EV is not sustainable today, but it has the ability to happen, and is better than today (alternatives), and creating interesting stories around these cars,” he said.
