Tecno has announced a significant milestone after clearing the network enhancement criteria established by Jio. According to the company and Jio, Tecno is the first smartphone brand in India to meet the stringent requirements for the operator’s true 5G rollout. This breakthrough reveals that Tecno’s devices will now perform reliably even in areas with challenging connectivity.
Tecno’s integration with Jio true 5G network
Technically, Tecno has integrated several of Jio’s network upgrade features to maximise performance on the 5G standalone network. Its new “Tecno Signal Core” system supports full 5G SA compatibility, which helps deliver faster speeds and stable signal even in crowded or weak signal zones.
The company has implemented new radio carrier aggregation supporting critical frequency bands including n28 to improve coverage in suburbs and rural zones. Voice over New Radio (VoNR) is enabled for high-definition voice calls over the 5G network. Tecno also supports dynamic slot aggregation, key local bands for widespread coverage throughout India, and Smart Signal Detection for rapid network recovery.
On the software side, Tecno offers 4G+5G DSDA functionality and a visual 5G+/5G++ icon logic to help users verify active strong signals. The hardware antennas and reception performance have been tuned for better performance in busy areas and remote places.
This achievement strengthens Tecno’s presence across India, especially in small towns and villages where signal quality varies drastically.
