Geely-Renault firm Horse reveals hybrid conversion for electric cars

Horse, wet and renal group engine joint venture, has revealed a hybrid power train that has been developed to recover in electric cars.

It includes an internal combustion engine, electric motor, gear box and related electronics in a single unit that can be squeezed in the same space like EV’s main drive motor.

This means that manufacturers can recover the electric car with the unit without the need to re -engineer the car or set up a new production line.

The horse said the power train could be fueled using petrol, E85 ethanol-petrol mix, pure methanol and artificial fuel.

It can run both as traditional parallel hybrids (running wheels) and range actors (generating electricity for drive motor).

It speaks directly in the car frame. Although its concept is considered to be replaced by a front motor in an EV, it can also be used in the ice car platform.

The new horse unit comes when many manufacturers slow down their transfer to their electric lineups.

Specifically, Fatet is currently developing a new version of 500E Retrfoids with a hybrid power train to convert the old petrol 500 and to please his business between the slow sales of EVs.

“For more than a decade, it seemed that battery -powered vehicles were the only way to zero, and the only way to planned OEMs,” said Matyas Gianini, CEO of Horse Power Train.

“However, now we are moving towards a neutral world, with various markets and applications, everyone is following their sustainable movements.”

Gianini added that the company’s new hybrid unit “allows OEMS to offer a power train diversity with minimal obstruction of production processes and resources costs”.
