While One UI 7 is still rolling out, Samsung is already almost prepared for the One UI 8 release. The brand has already begun the One UI 8 beta program, with the stable version scheduled for release this summer. Reports say it might happen as soon as next month.
Sadly, with every major upgrade, many Galaxy devices reach the end of their life, and so was true for One UI 7. As a result, only a handful of Samsung devices will be upgraded to One UI 8 based on Android 16. In this post, we’ll go through the list of Galaxy A-series phones that are eligible for the One UI 8 update.

When will One UI 8 start rolling out?
Samsung hasn’t announced an exact release date for One UI 8. However, it has confirmed that the update will start rolling out to devices ‘this summer.’ Well, that could mean anything between June and September. More recently, the brand revealed that upcoming foldables, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, will boot One UI 8 right out of the box.
There’s no official release date yet for the upcoming foldables, but recent reports point towards next month’s release — and it shouldn’t be surprising, given that Android 16 will be released this month. Brands usually take a few weeks thereafter to polish their custom skin. Hence, a July release for One UI 8 is very much likely.
Samsung is looking more confident with One UI 8 than it was with One UI 7. It has already begun public beta testing and has committed to a release timeline, although not entirely clear at the moment, but still, that’s anything better than One UI 7.
One UI 8 is a relatively much smaller upgrade than One UI 7, and that’s one big reason for quicker development. However, there’s no denying that Samsung is more proactive this time to regain the trust it lost with One UI 7, and from that perspective, it’s an important upgrade. We talked more about why One UI 8 is a crucial update (read more here).
