If you’ve read stuff I’ve written about Motorola, you know I’m not the biggest fan of its phones. That doesn’t mean, however, that a Motorola phone can’t be a good deal at the right price. The 2024 Moto Edge is currently at a great price, making it one of the rare cases where I’m willing to recommend one of these.
The 2024 Motorola Edge launched at a $550 price point last year. With Motorola launching new entries, this one can be found discounted pretty frequently, but right now, you can grab one for a mere $300. That’s just $25 shy of being a perfect 50% off, making for a great phone purchase if you’re in a budget.
This phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage (UFS 2.2). We don’t have expandable memory, but these specs are pretty neat for $300. It has a 6.6-inch pOLED Endless Edge Display with a 1080 x 2400 resolution and an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate, with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. We have a 50MP main sensor with OIS (f/1.8, 1/1.5″) and a 13MP ultrawide lens (f/2.2) with autofocus, while front-facing camera needs are served by a 32MP sensor with autofocus. We also have a 5,000mAh battery 68W wired TurboPower charging, and 15W wireless charging, so you can top this up relatively quickly too.

The phones so bad, they might get banned by the United States.
Its Achilles heel, however, is that it’s an older phone that didn’t have outstanding update support already. It only has two years of security updates left, and while it might still get Android 16, anything after that is a bit of a toss-up. This is usually my main gripe with Motorola phones. But if you don’t care about updates that much and you just want a phone that works well now and continues to work for a year or two, this is a good option. Make sure to get this before it’s gone.
