Apple’s Foldable iPhone Tipped to Have a Hole-Punch Display and Skip Face ID

Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone, which is now said to be a big book -style tool, is slowly starting to shape. In the months of numerous rumors, there was some confusion on how Apple would take the approach to its first foldable. However, recent notes of analysts and leaks have begun suggesting on book -style design. A recent leakage said that Apple has moved ahead with a selection of a crease -free display, in which Samsung is its only supplier. Now, more details about the display used on the foldable iPhone have surfaced.

According to a neurobile blogger called ‘YEUX1122’, who received information from the Chinese microblogging platform Webo, Apple’s foldable iPhone will use a basic hole punch camera for its first foldable. This is a departure from Apple’s usual biometric verification technology called Face ID, which has now become the standard of all iPhone models since the beginning of the iPhone 16E. It turns out, Apple has not yet been done with the touch ID on the iPhones, and it will use fingerprint -based biometric authentication technology (currently used in its affordable iPad models) for its upcoming foldable.

A former note from the famous analyst Ming-Coca also mentioned it. He said the device would be a book -style foldable, which should be retail between $ 2,000 to $ 2500, and has been claimed that it should kill production in the fourth quarter of 2026. The note also states that a 7.8 -inch display will be created free and that the core display will measure 5.5 inches. The device “When the folded, it will be 9-9.5 mm thick and when it opens, it will be 4.5-4.8 mm.”

The new source, in addition to repeating the size of the display, also states that the core display will play a resolution of 2,088 x 1,422 pixels, while the large internal display will have a resolution of 2,713 x 1,920 pixels. These display specifications are being offered on Vivo’s X -Fold 3 Pro or Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Seeing that Apple still uses a touch ID embedded in the MacBook and the iPad’s magic keyboard power buttons, we expect a similar implementation on the next foldable. It is said that some technologies for foldable iPhone have been taken from another upcoming smartphone called iPhone 17 Air. Apple’s thin iPhone, its measurement will only be 5.5 mm thick. The previous report also mentions that the foldable display will have a 4: 3 aspect ratio, which is similar to most Android -powered foldable devices sold today.
