Coros launches Nomad smartwatch with 1.3″ MIP display, 50m water resistance, GPS & 22-day battery life

Coros has officially launched its new Nomad rugged Smartwatch in China, priced at 2499 yuan. The global variant is now available for $349. The Nomad stands as a direct competitor to Garmin’s rugged outdoor watches, offering a tough build, rich navigation tools, and extensive tracking features tailored for hikers, anglers, and outdoor adventurers.

The smartwatch features a 1.3-inch MIP reflective display with a resolution of 260×260 pixels. The screen remains readable in direct sunlight and displays vivid colors in low light. It is protected by Mohs 9 hardness mineral glass and housed in a dual-layer bezel made of aluminum alloy and high-strength polymer.

The watch body weighs 41.5g, and with the silicone strap included, the total weight reaches 61g. The strap supports quick-release 24mm bands and fits wrist sizes ranging from 130mm to 210mm, with an optional larger band for 150mm to 240mm wrists.

Coros rates the Nomad at 5ATM water resistance and says the watch can function in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C. The watch supports up to 22 days of battery life with daily use, including continuous sleep, heart rate, and stress tracking. In GPS mode, the watch lasts up to 50 hours with all-satellite tracking or 34 hours with dual-frequency full satellite tracking. Charging time is approximately 1.5 hours.

The Nomad supports offline global topographic and contour maps, route planning, trackback, and real-time environmental data such as altitude, air pressure, temperature, and wind speed. Coros includes a new feature called “Exploration Notes,” which allows users to mark locations, attach photos, videos, and voice memos, and generate a 3D trajectory of their activity.

The smartwatch includes a dedicated fishing mode. It logs casting and reeling activity and uses moon phase and tidal data to help users find optimal fishing times. The watch also supports a wide range of sport modes, including hiking, mountaineering, cycling, swimming, skiing, and strength training. It tracks advanced fitness metrics such as VO₂ max, cadence, slope, blood oxygen levels, HRV, and recovery time.

Coros has equipped the Nomad with smart features like 32GB of internal music storage, Bluetooth earphone support, and remote control for GoPro, DJI, and Insta360 cameras. It also delivers smartphone notifications, phone finder functionality, and compatibility with platforms like Strava, Komoot, Apple Health, and WeChat Sports. The watch connects via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and supports external accessories such as heart rate monitors and indoor training equipment.

The device includes a “Team Mode” that shares live location and performance metrics with teammates. Coros also provides an emergency notification feature that emails preset contacts when outdoor activities begin.

The Nomad is available in Green, Brown, and Dark Grey color options. The company also sells Coros Heart Rate Monitors in multiple colors for $79.
