Devialet Gemini II Review — Audiophile ON

Devialet Gemini II Review

The earbuds come with multiple ear tip sizes, allowing you to find the right fit for your ears. The ergonomic design ensures that they stay securely in place, and the Internal Stretch Absorption technology mentioned above is a good solution to mitigating shifting in the canal.

The charging case is compact and features the same high-quality materials, with a smooth sliding mechanism that feels satisfying to use. The case is pocket-friendly and has a premium weight to it, making it feel substantial without being cumbersome.

The touch controls on the earbuds are responsive and intuitive, allowing you to manage playback, adjust volume, and toggle ANC without needing to reach for your phone. The controls are easy to use, though they can be a bit sensitive, leading to occasional accidental touches.

Overall, I found the build quality of the Devialet Gemini II is top-notch, with a design that feels both luxurious and durable. These earbuds are designed as a luxury good and the good thing is they feel like one and not something that a company has attached its logo to from a 3rd party manufacturer.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of the Devialet Gemini II is where these earbuds truly excel. Those little 10mm dynamic drivers deliver a sound that is detailed and balanced, with a focus on clarity and precision. The overall sound signature is natural and musical, making these earbuds suitable for a wide range of music genres.

The bass is tight and controlled, providing enough impact to satisfy fans of bass-heavy genres without overwhelming the mids and highs. The bass is well-defined and adds depth to the music without being boomy or overpowering. I found its ability to crush lows when required (for example when listening to EDM) yet reign it all back in and behave in classical music was the earphone’s best characteristic as a whole. It’s versatile in a way that it almost knows how it should perform and hasn’t been limited to one genre or another for optimal performance.

The midrange is clear and natural, with vocals and instruments coming through with excellent detail. The mids are slightly forward, which helps to bring out the nuances in the music and makes the Gemini II particularly enjoyable for vocal-centric genres like jazz, acoustic, and classical.

The treble is crisp and extended, providing plenty of detail and air without being harsh. The highs are well-balanced and never fatiguing, even at higher volumes. This makes the Gemini II a pleasure to listen to for extended periods, as the sound remains engaging without becoming tiring.

The soundstage is impressively wide for a pair of true wireless earbuds, providing a good sense of space and separation between instruments. The advanced ANC does a fantastic job of reducing ambient noise without affecting the sound quality, allowing you to enjoy your music in peace even in noisy environments.

Its very hard to find any fault with the Gemini II when it comes to sound. It’s the bread and butter of the product and when we look at it in comparison to other consumer models there is a clear step up. Realistically to outperform the Gemini II on sound we are talking about getting into specific wired audiophile earbuds. When it comes to sound, right now this is the best-sounding wireless model I have heard to date.
