Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni is brand’s second flagship robot cleaner this year

Ecovacs has taken the covers off of its latest high-end robot vacuum and mop – the Deebot X9 Pro Omni – just a few months after unveiling the X8 Pro Omni at CES 2025.

The rapid launch cycle signals the Chinese brand’s intent to accelerate innovation in the robotic floorcare space, and keep pace with the likes of Roborock, Dreame and Eufy.

At the core of the X9 Pro Omni is the Ozmo Roller Mop system, first introduced in the X8 Pro.

Designed to address common hygiene issues with conventional mops, the Ozmo system delivers 16 times more pressure than standard pads and continuously self-washes during operation.

The X9 Pro Omni features separate clean and dirty water tanks built directly into the robot, allowing it to refresh the mop in real time while keeping contaminants isolated.

The X9 also introduces several new features not seen in previous models. A redesigned brush system lifts both the main and side brushes automatically when wet messes are detected, reducing the risk of cross-contamination and streaking.

Mop-lifting functionality for carpets is also included, along with 145°F hot air drying inside the Omni base station to prevent bacterial growth on the mop roller.

It’s actually got a slightly less Pa suction rating compared to the X8 – 16,660 versus 18,000 – but we’re told that performance has received a significant overhaul, with Ecovacs’ new BLAST (Boosted Large-Airflow Suction Technology) system including a high-torque 100W motor, wider air inlet, and a redesigned airflow path to maintain consistent suction across various surfaces.

The system is powered by the company’s proprietary SuperBoost battery, which supports higher discharge currents while offering improved thermal efficiency and a longer lifespan.

For households with pets or long hair, the upgraded ZeroTangle 3.0 system adds a cyclone-directed brush and inward-curved side brushes designed to minimize hair entanglement. Edge and corner cleaning is handled by the TruEdge 2.0 system, now paired with a retractable mop and brush for improved reach.

The Omni Station washes and dries the mop, manages dirty water, and should keep user intervention to a minimum.

Rather than replacing the X8 outright, the X9 appears to build on its foundation, prioritizing hygiene, real-world cleaning performance, and a more advanced automation system over raw suction figures.

Ecovacs is also expanding access to the roller mop platform with the simultaneous launch of the more affordable T80 Omni, which includes the same self-cleaning mop mechanism.

The Deebot X9 Pro Omni is available now for $1,299.99 in the US as part of a limited-time launch offer (regular MSRP: $1,599.99). The promotion runs until 19 May.
