Recent reports have revealed several details about the camera configurations of the upcoming Vivo and Oppo flagship phones. While the Vivo X300 Pro will feature a custom-designed 200-megapixel Samsung HPB periscope telephoto camera, the Find X9 Pro is said to feature a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto camera. It now appears that an Honor executive has revealed the telephoto camera details of the Magic 8 Pro.
Honor Magic 8 Pro to feature 200MP periscope telephoto camera

Fang Fei, President of Product Line, Honor Device recently released a Weibo post to share some shots captured using the Honor Magic 7 RSR. She said that the blue hour at sunset is one of photographers’ favourite times to capture stunning images, but it lasts only about 10 to 20 minutes and comes with challenges such as complex lighting and layered colors, making it difficult to get the perfect shot
In the same post, she confirmed that the next-generation Magic series, which is coming soon, will not only excel in the main camera department but will also be able to capture stunning blue hour shots thanks to a 200-megapixel telephoto lens. She added that with this setup, users will be able to capture beautiful images across different focal lengths, whether near or far, with ease.
While she has not specified the name of the device, it appears that she could be the talking about the Honor Magic 8 Pro. Previously, Honor’s Flagship Series Product Manager Li Kun also hinted that the brand will soon launch a phone with a 200-megapixel telephoto camera. A recent leak by tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the Magic 8 Pro’s camera setup will include a dToF sensor for depth measurement and a mysterious sensor.
While the Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300 Pro also feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, both are powered by the Dimensity 9500. In contrast, the Magic 8 Pro is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (also known as Snapdragon 8 Elite 2). This gives the Magic 8 Pro an advantage for buyers who prefer Qualcomm-powered devices.
