OnePlus is preparing to unveil the OnePlus 15 later this month in China. The company has been actively highlighting its upcoming display technology and will reveal more details on Oct. 14 during BOE’s flexible OLED flagship launch event in Shenzhen. Ahead of the event, OnePlus President Li Jie Louis shared important information about the screen that will power the brand’s next flagship.
OnePlus 15: Third-generation Oriental Screen with 165Hz refresh rate

According to Li Jie Louis, OnePlus and BOE have co-developed the “third-generation Oriental Screen,” described as the world’s most advanced smartphone display. This new panel will mark the beginning of the “165Hz ultra-refresh era
The display, expected to be a 6.78-inch BOE X3 OLED panel, will offer a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, making it the first of its kind globally.
The new display will achieve eight major technological breakthroughs and set nine world records in screen performance. It promises four key areas of leadership: smoothness, display quality, dark viewing, and eye protection. It will also be the first Android display to achieve true hardware-level 1-nit brightness for dark environments and will be certified with TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 5.0 Gold.
Since the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro in 2019, OnePlus has led the industry into the high-refresh era, introducing 90Hz, 120Hz, and later the Oriental Display series. With the OnePlus 15 and BOE’s third-generation screen, the company now aims to redefine flagship smartphone display standards once again.
