OnePlus OxygenOS 16 Drops October 16

Earlier today (6th October 2025), the Chinese brand announced the official launch date of the OxygenOS 16. The latest software is based on the Android 16 operating system. This announcement also arrives a day after the ColorOS 16 release in China. Looking at the teaser image poster, the company’s latest OxygenOS iteration carries the “Intelligently Yours” tagline along with the new “OnePlus AI” branding. So the OxygenOS 16 is basically bringing deeper AI integration.

Just yesterday, OnePlus shared another teaser talking about Gemini AI integration on the OxygenOS 16 that will make its debut alongside the OnePlus 15. For those unaware, this is the brand’s next gen flagship smartphone that packs cutting edge hardware like Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. With the new OxygenOS 16, the OnePlus 1 is set to feature on-device AI tools along with the new Mind Space, which will act as a central hub as it functions as a planner, assistant, and manager.

Gemini will reportedly be built into other OnePlus apps as well. There are hints that OnePlus could use it in areas like photo management, call summaries, and smart suggestions inside the Notes app. So OnePlus appears to be making OxygenOS more helpful while keeping the user interface clean and fast.
