The C-30 supports playback of standard CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, as well as MP3 and WMA files. It features a 24-bit/192kHz DAC and includes Onkyo’s proprietary Vector Linear Shaping Circuit (VLSC), a noise-reduction technology designed to eliminate pulse noise from the signal path.
The player’s digital clock boasts ±10 parts-per-million (PPM) precision, which the company says improves stereo imaging and timing accuracy. Connectivity includes RCA stereo output, coaxial digital, and optical digital output, making the C-30 compatible with a wide range of stereo systems and DACs.
Physically, the C-30 features an aluminum front panel. The unit matches the aesthetic and form factor of other components in the Icon Series, which Onkyo says is designed to deliver a full-featured hi-fi experience in a contemporary aesthetic.
The broader Icon lineup includes the A-50 integrated amplifier ($1,599), P-80 network preamplifier ($1,999), and M-80 power amplifier ($1,999). Both the A-50 and P-80 come with Dirac Limited room correction, with optional upgrades. Onkyo unveiled the Icon Series at CES 2025, positioning it as a return to its high-fidelity roots with a modern feature set. All components are available in black or silver finishes.
