Oppo is doubling down on mobile photography with its upcoming Find X9 Pro, and the big news is a magnetic camera kit developed in partnership with Hasselblad. The feature was confirmed by Oppo Find series product manager Zhou Yibao on Weibo, and it marks the first time this accessory will be available on a Pro model rather than being reserved for the future Find X9 Ultra.
Unlike snap-on kits, Oppo’s system uses magnets for quick attachment, making it easier to swap between standard shooting and enhanced setups. A concept image shared by a Weibo user shows a Hasselblad camera grip with add-on optics, though Zhou noted the retail design will differ from the prototype.
Early details suggest the kit includes a teleconverter lens designed to extend the Find X9 Pro’s 200MP telephoto camera. With its native 3x zoom, the add-on could push focal lengths into the same territory as Vivo’s X200 Ultra, which offers a 200mm equivalent. This is also a shift in Oppo’s strategy: the Find X9 Pro drops the dual telephoto setup seen on the Find X8 Pro in favor of one high-end sensor with support from external optics.
Oppo’s long-running partnership with Hasselblad means users can also expect refined color science and pro-grade tuning, while Oppo’s AI enhancements handle image processing. Video-focused accessories are rumored for the standard Find X9 as well, though it’s not yet clear whether these will involve external lenses.
The Find X9 series is expected to debut later this year, but Oppo hasn’t confirmed whether the Hasselblad kit will see a global release. If it does, the X9 Pro could emerge as one of 2025’s most ambitious camera phones, aimed squarely at enthusiasts who want more than just software tricks.
