Qobuz Connect takes on Spotify and Tidal

After months of teasing, and more than a few leaks, Qobuz Connect is now officially live.

Aiming squarely at Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect does exactly what you’d expect, letting you beam your music directly from the Qobuz app to supported gear without resorting to Bluetooth, AirPlay, Chromecast, or another third-party interface.

That means no more fumbling with multiple apps or relying on a baked-in Qobuz experience that’s usually a stripped-down version of the real thing.

Instead, Connect offloads the actual streaming duties to your compatible device – such as a network streamer or amp – while your phone or desktop app just acts as a remote.

It’s the same basic model as Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect, with a high-resolution streaming available; Qobuz is pushing up to 24-bit/192 kHz streams.

One of the handier perks of Qobuz Connect is how it syncs playback across apps. You can start an album on your laptop and switch over to your phone or hi-fi setup without skipping a beat. Even the desktop and mobile apps stay in sync, so you’re always in control no matter what screen you’re using.

Qobuz is also keeping things simple: there’s no extra app to install, and no new subscriptions to buy. If you’re already on a Studio or Sublime plan, you’re good to go. The feature is rolling out as a free firmware update to supported gear, with no extra costs or hidden catches.

Qobuz Connect is launching with a healthy list of nearly 60 audio brands onboard, from the likes of Naim, Marantz and Denon , to McIntosh, dCS, JBL Premium Audio, WiiM, HiFi Rose, Focal, Eversolo, Lumin, and many more.

The French brand worked in collaboration with StreamUnlimited Engineering, a behind-the-scenes tech partner known for helping premium audio brands integrate next-gen features.
