Razer just revealed the BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless Hyperspeed keyboard, with a compact design, two wireless modes, and a customizable PCB. It looks like a great option for gaming and productivity alike, and you can order yours starting today.
The keyboard comes with Razer’s Gen 3 Orange Tactile Mechanical Switches. One of its key features is the hot-swappable printed circuit board (PCB), which works with both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. This lets you change the keyboard’s feel and sound to match your own preferences. The keyboard comes with Razer Chroma RGB lighting, with bright, customizable lighting for each key. This lighting works with over 300 games and apps for a more immersive experience.
Inside, the BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless Hyperspeed has several design elements to improve typing. It includes dual-layer dampening foam to reduce echo, factory-lubricated stabilizers for smoother key presses, a top-mounted steel plate to minimize metallic pinging, and pre-applied PCB tape to soften high-pitched clicks. That basically just means these features work together to make a cleaner sound and a more comfortable typing experience.
For better control, the keyboard has a multi-function roller and three dedicated control buttons. These let you quickly adjust settings like media playback, volume, and battery status. You can also reprogram these controls using Razer Synapse to fit your own gaming style or workflow if the default isn’t what you wanted.
The keyboard can run for up to 980 hours in Power Saving Mode, which is activated by holding the Battery Life and Status button for three seconds. Tapping the same button lights up the number row to show the remaining battery level.
For connectivity, you get Razer HyperSpeed Wireless technology for fast, reliable connections, which is important for competitive gameplay that requires milliseconds of precision. Besides wireless mode, it also supports Bluetooth, letting you pair it with up to three devices for easy switching between different systems. You can also pair multiple Razer devices to the same HyperSpeed USB dongle.
I like the fact that you can create your own lighting effects using Razer Chroma Studio. It’s always been cooler for me to make my own lighting than to take what’s given by default. The white steel plate inside the keyboard helps spread the light evenly, which improves its visual appeal.
This keyboard is great all over, especially for those who may switch out keyboards often for a different experience. This could be the keyboard you need if you want to try different feels and styles but don’t want to pay for multiple high-performance keyboards. The Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless Hyperspeed is priced at $180 and is available now at Razer’s official website.
