Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra camera specifications leaked well before launch

Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy S26 series of flagship phones, which may debut in January 2026. So far, reports have revealed that the lineup may include three models, such as the Galaxy S26 Edge, Galaxy S26 Pro, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. A recent leak revealed the design of the S26 Edge, and now a new leak has revealed the camera specifications of the Ultra edition.

To recall, the Galaxy S25 Ultra featured a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2 primary camera, a 50-megapixel Samsung JN3 ultra-wide lens, a 10-megapixel Sony IMX754 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX854 periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

As seen above, tipster Roland Quandt has suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a new 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

The leak reveals that the S26 Ultra’s telephoto camera will feature the 12-megapixel Samsung S5K3LD sensor with support for 3x optical zoom. While he specified the sensor for the telephoto camera, he did not reveal any information about the other camera sensors.

Recent reports have revealed that the S26 Ultra may adopt a new HP2+ primary camera with a nearly 1-inch sensor size and an f/1.4 aperture, offering 47 percent more light intake than its predecessor. According to a Weibo post by tipster Ice Universe, the new telephoto will have an f/2.4 aperture and 20 percent more pixels compared to the S25 Ultra’s 10-megapixel telephoto. He added that the S26 Ultra’s telephoto with an f/2.9 aperture will support 38 percent more light intake.

Galaxy S26 Ultra’s other specifications

Recent reports have suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy and a 5,500mAh battery with 60W charging support. It is also expected to come with MagSafe-like magnetic wireless charging support. Compared to the S25 Ultra, the successor edition is said to be a larger and thinner device with rounded corners.

Galaxy S26 Edge, S26 Pro camera details tipped

As can be seen, the tipster also revealed that the Galaxy S26 Edge would feature a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide snapper. This means that it will have a dual-camera setup like the S25 Edge, but with a new ultra-wide lens.

The S26 Pro will feature a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. However, he did not mention anything about its primary and telephoto cameras.
