Samsung’s long-rumored tri-folding Galaxy phone might have just shown up in China. The innovative new foldable phone was spotted in a certification database, which hints that it actually exists but also reveals some disappointing details regarding its charging speeds. So read on to find out more.
Is This Samsung’s Tri-Fold Phone?
The South Korean tech giant’s upcoming tri-fold Galaxy phone may have surfaced on China’s 3C certification, carrying the SM-F9680 model number. It has been listed as a ‘5G digital mobile telephone set’. Samsung will likely skip a charging adapter in the box, but the new foldable device was listed with the EP-TA800 charging adapter. This reveals that the tri-folding model might only come with support for up to 25W wired fast charging.
In other words, it matches the new Galaxy S25 Edge’s disappointing fast charging speeds. The 3C certification also hints that the tri-folding phone will be released in the Chinese market as well. The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate is the only tri-folding phone to see a commercial release, so Galaxy’s tri-fold model could be the second within this new category. As of right now, the brand is set to debut in the global market soon.
While initial teasers hinted at a Galaxy Z Flip 7 Ultra, this was later revealed not to be the case. So the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be arriving soon, along with the relatively more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE model.
