Shanling has launched the new EC Zero AKM, a portable CD player designed for users who want premium sound and build quality in a compact form. It features a metal chassis and a tempered glass lid, giving it a sturdy and refined look.
The player uses a custom CD mechanism for accurate disc reading and an active magnetic clamp that stabilizes the disc during playback, reducing vibration and mechanical noise. It also supports gapless CD playback for uninterrupted listening.
At its core, the EC Zero AKM uses an AKM AK4493S DAC for clean, natural audio output and dual SGM8262 amplifiers that provide balanced amplifier power. The headphone section delivers up to 836mW at 32Ω in balanced mode and 213mW at 32Ω in single-ended mode when powered externally. Its low output impedance ensures compatibility with both sensitive earphones and larger headphones.
The player runs on a 5500mAh battery, offering up to 10 hours of playback through wired outputs and up to 18 hours in Bluetooth mode. It supports USB DAC playback up to 768kHz/32bit and DSD512, along with multiple connectivity options including 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone and line outputs, 3.5mm coaxial/optical digital output, and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Adaptive, aptX, and SBC codecs.
Additional features include a tactile volume slider, intuitive user interface, and CD ripping to FAT32 USB drives at 1x speed in WAV format. A PU leather carrying case is also available for added protection and style.
