After the recent leak of the Xperia 1 VII, fans of Sony smartphones were hoping that the mid-range Xperia 10 VII would also likely launch alongside the flagship on May 15, however, that does not appear to be the case, according to recent leaks which claim that the Xperia 10 VII will be launching in October instead.
The revised timeline comes from two sources: a tipster named Spektykles on the Esato forums, who stated the phone would launch in “10 (Oct),” and a Reddit user u/Aquis_GN, referencing a post from the Sony Fans Vietnam Facebook group. Although there’s no official confirmation yet, it’s possible that Sony is taking more time to reposition the Xperia 10 VII at a slightly higher price point, potentially stepping into the space previously occupied by the mid-range Xperia 5 models.
Previous leaks have outlined the expected specifications of the Xperia 10 VII. It will likely retain the 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, while introducing a 120 Hz refresh rate for improved visual smoothness. The device is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip and 8 GB of RAM. If Sony does position it more firmly in the mid-range segment, a higher-end processor could be possible. A 50 MP main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery are also anticipated, along with the return of Sony’s dedicated shutter button.
