TCL has announced the Movetime MT48, its newest smartwatch for children, targeting families who want safety and connectivity without sacrificing creativity.
The device launches in Europe with a recommended price of €150. TCL confirms that the watch will be available later this October in Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, and France, with plans to expand into additional international markets once local certifications are complete.

The Movetime MT48 features dual-band GPS (L1+L5) for real-time, high-precision location tracking, working reliably even in crowded or obstructed environments due to its advanced anti-interference technology.
Parents can create custom safe zones in the TCL Connect app, monitor live location data, and get instant alerts if a child exits a designated area. The device also includes a dedicated SOS button, enabling children to send emergency alerts and share their live location with parents
The watch comes with full 4G support for video calls, VoLTE voice calls, instant messaging, and secure photo sharing. It also supports voice and text messaging, along with a “shake to add” friend feature that requires parental approval. On the security side, privacy and data handling comply with GDPR, ISO 27701, and ISO 27001 standards, ensuring all communications remain safe and confidential.
In terms of battery life, the MT48 lasts up to 2.5 days on a single charge and offers seven days of standby. It runs on a 900mAh battery and is designed to keep up with an active child’s lifestyle. The smartwatch also carries IP68 and 2ATM water resistance, making it safe for swimming, rain, and daily splashes.
TCL is focusing on digital wellness with the MT48’s School Time Mode. Parents can activate this mode from their smartphones to block games, group chats, and notifications during study hours, while still keeping SOS access available. The companion app also lets parents set daily routines, alarms, and healthy habit reminders.
The MT48 supports an AI image creator and motion-triggered watch faces, offering kids playful tools to express themselves. The device encourages children to stay active with a step tracker and lets them personalize their experience through custom wallpapers.
The smartwatch comes in Galactic Blue, Cosmic Pink, Lunar Cream, and Nebula Grey colors.
