TCL has officially launched the QM9K series, a new line of premium QD-Mini LED TVs that now sits at the top of its 2025 home theater lineup. The QM9K joins the existing QM8K series, which focuses on advanced display technology and intelligent features. The new TV stands out as the first Google TV in the U.S. to come with Google Gemini built in.

TCL QM9K TV Specifications
TCL equips the display with a 4K Ultra HD resolution panel using its CrystGlow WHVA technology, which delivers wide viewing angles and includes an anti-reflective coating. The panel supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and IMAX Enhanced content. TCL has also included its proprietary AIPQ Pro processor for real-time picture optimization.
The QM9K TV uses TCL’s updated Halo Control System powered by a new mini-LED microchip, a condensed micro-lens structure, and a 23-bit backlight controller. The system manages up to 6,000 dimming zones and delivers up to 6,500 nits of peak HDR brightness, enabling stronger contrast, reduced blooming, and high-impact specular highlights.
It doesn’t disappoint gamers either. The TV comes with a native 144Hz refresh rate and Game Accelerator 288, which enables up to 288Hz variable refresh rate (VRR) gaming in select scenarios.

It also supports FreeSync Premium Pro, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and includes TCL’s Game Bar for on-the-fly gaming adjustments. For motion clarity, the TV features Motion Rate 480 and MEMC frame insertion technology to reduce blur during fast-paced scenes.
The series comes with built-in audio by Bang & Olufsen and supports Dolby Atmos, including Atmos Flex Connect. TCL has integrated an mmWave-based Ambient Mode Sensor that detects user presence and activates screensavers or widgets.
As already mentioned, the QM9K is the first TCL TV to ship with Google Gemini. The voice assistant uses far-field microphones and contextual awareness to handle complex, natural-language commands and perform AI-based tasks directly on the TV.
The QM9K runs on Google TV and supports Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2, Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. For connectivity, it includes four HDMI 2.1 ports (one with eARC), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, two USB ports, and ATSC 3.0 support.
Like its counterparts, TCL uses a nearly bezel-free design called “ZeroBorder,” aiming to provide a highly immersive viewing experience.
Pricing and Availability
TCL confirmed that the QM9K series will be available later this month in sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches. The models will be sold through Best Buy and select regional retailers.
In related updates, AKAI has launched its PowerView Series TVs in India with Android 14, starting at ₹13,990, while Samsung is preparing to introduce its new QLED 4K TV in the country featuring 100% Color Volume and Knox Security.
