OnePlus was quick with the OxygenOS 15 rollout, which is based on Android 15. The brand wrapped it up earlier this year and has already started working on its next iteration — OxygenOS 16. In fact, OnePlus has already kicked off the Android 16 beta program for select premium smartphones.
While OnePlus hasn’t announced the OxygenOS 16 release date yet, it’s almost guaranteed to arrive much earlier than last year. The reason is that Google will release Android 16 in June, which will make it the fastest Android OS release in recent years. However, the update will only reach a handful of OnePlus devices. We’ve curated a list of OnePlus devices below that are not eligible for the OxygenOS 16 upgrade, based on the existing software update policy.

We prepared the aforementioned list based on the existing software update policy. If your OnePlus device is on the list, it’s unlikely to get the Android 16 update. You would want to upgrade to a newer model with longer software support to continue receiving new features and enhancements.
When will OnePlus release OxygenOS 16?
OnePlus typically releases the newest version of its custom skin a month after Google announces the stable version of its newest Android OS. For example, Android 15 was released in October 2024, and the stable OxygenOS 15 rollout kicked off in November. The same was true for OxygenOS 14 as well. So, we might see OxygenOS 16 getting released in July, as Android 16 is confirmed to arrive next month.
