Contact is a New York Times game that challenges you to find a commitment to words. It’s easy, but it’s not – connection categories can be almost anything, and they are usually quite specific. If you need to get answers, we have covered you.
What are the contacts?
Contact is a New York Times game. The goal is easy: Sort 16 words into groups of 4. Each group of words will be linked to a common idea or theme. That normal factor can be anything. We have seen everything from sports to the number of letters in words that you need to find an extra letter at the end of the word. Sometimes they refer to economics, the second time they refer to fairy tales. Nothing has been said about what kind of affiliation will be between words.

What kind of contact groups do you guess?
There is no fast, reliable way to approach contacts, as is with the wradler, because the contacts are not algorithous. However, there are some things to keep in mind that can help.
- Find some similar parts of speech. Are some words verbs and other nouns? Are there some adjectives? Try to group them mentally based on these categories and see if another sample jumps on you.
- What are the synonyms? Sometimes categories will be the synonym of a phrase, or very close to the synonyms. However, do not rely closely. Occasionally, the contacts will deliberately put the words that are Sometimes Synonyms to mislead you.
- Try to say words. Sometimes, words help say. The puzzle in which we saw were in the words, rate, sharp, clip, speed, motion, movement, travel, and hurry. All of these are clearly related to the idea of motion. However, when you call them, it becomes a bit more clear that there are only four (go, move, hurry, faster) things that you really say to indicate a move.
- Expect a Red Herring. Contacts usually contain words that can still be groups, still wrongly, together. For example, take the words of Bud, Corona and Light. You can easily see these three words together and assume that they are together in a category related to beer – but they weren’t.
- Find different words. If a word on your board does not have multiple meanings or they can really be used in only one context, try to use the word as the basis of a category.
- Change the board. Sometimes, the rotating words will help you see in new ways.
Don’t feel too bad if you didn’t solve it – always tomorrow! And those words can be compatible with a title you are interested in, give you a leg with competition. Once you are confident that you understand the connection, choose 4 words, then target “Submit”. You have only four attempts overall, so don’t guess much.
