This morning, the news broke that two services on our best fitness apps are being joined in the forces: Strava is buying Ranna.
Strava, which we have ranked a great service to both free and premium levels with a great social media platform and running tracking integration, is not really much in the way of coaching, stop the availability of some static training projects. It seems that the coaching projects build another highly -degreeing app, which includes the AI coaching service, which is a great fit.
Since Strava’s CEO Mike Martin said in an interview with Ranna’s CEO Dom Masal, in an interview with Tekradar, “The way I think about it is just like the world’s largest team has just got a new coach. I think this is a really interesting way of his position.”
After reading the reactions to Ranna Submaridate (cautious candidate, unlike the anger of the Garman’s new connection+ premium level), I wanted to ask both CEOs, especially Martin, if Google forced running to the Ranna Consumers with the Futbbut community.
Martin said: “I want to be really clear on both communities and consumer bases … An important part of Strava is that we are an open platform for the entire attached fitness industry and live. So we expect it to continue the work, and so is Ranna also connected with Strava.
“I think we have many interesting opportunities to accelerate both the support provided for the two businesses, and just to put an excellent approach to it, it’s a development and investment game for us … not to play for forced integration, or anything like this.”
A running for swimmers/cyclists?
I asked Maskal and Martin what the pursuit of both platforms means, and in the short term, nothing will change. However, it seems as if a given Strava will eventually use Ranna AI technology somehow, making some of Rana’s comprehensive exercise plan.

I also asked what will be taken from Strava: Of course, Strava also features features for cyclists, swimmers, tractors and other fields of all kinds. Can we see Ranna Branded AI coach for other sports in the future with Strava’s assistance and investment?
Short Answer: Not yet.
Maskal said: “One day we have always been a long -term intention to find the other sports. Because we did not do it a few years ago, the reason is that it is very complicated. We have to make a swimming app for Apple Watch, and we have to help customers, and we have to look for all things.
However, Maskal has revealed some changes to its roadmap: “We will probably see non -English -speaking languages to internationalize, maybe in the next two years. There are many users of Strava … that number (non -English -speaking users) is high.
“We can decide to translate a group of coaching comments, all videos, all types of content in the app, so that we can serve these users. I think this is something that will make sense.
“In terms of other sports, I think it’s a long -term vision.”
