After making a name for itself budget-friendly streamers and amps, WiiM is has taken the covers off of a dedicated smart speaker.
The new WiiM Sound is the company’s first all-in-one smart speaker, and it’s built to impress both audiophiles and streamers alike
At first glance, it looks a bit like an Apple HomePod with a screen.
Under the fabric-wrapped shell is a 100W setup with a 4-inch woofer, dual passive radiators, and a clever calibration system that adapts its sound to your room automatically.
You can also tweak everything manually with a 10-band graphic and parametric EQ, plus 24 built-in sound profiles if you just want to hit play and go.
There’s a 1.8-inch color touchscreen on the side for album art, menus, and quick controls, and playback buttons on top.

You can stream wirelessly over Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, or Ethernet, and there’s a 3.5mm aux input for legacy gear.
Casting support covers just about everything: Chromecast, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, DLNA, and Alexa Cast are all built in.
It obviously works as part of a WiiM multiroom system, but can also be used as part of an Alexa Multi-Room group too.
It plays nice with Alexa and Google Assistant, and comes bundled with the WiiM Voice Remote for hands-free control out of the box.
You can pair two WiiM Sounds together for true stereo, or even use them as part of a Dolby 5.1 setup — including as center or surround speakers.
Like the rest of WiiM’s gear, the Sound will benefit from frequent firmware updates that add new features over time.

The company says the speaker will launch in Q3 2025, with pricing to be announced closer to release.
The Sonos rival also took the covers off of a new Sub Pro which features an eight-inch driver and a Class-D amplifier, and the WiiM Amp Ultra, which boasts a 3.5-inch touchscreen, an ESS ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC, and can deliver 100W of power per channel.
