Xiaomi has introduced a new “Cloud Purple” color variant for its Mijia cordless hair straightening brush. Previously available only in White, the device is now up for sale in China through the Xiaomi Youpin platform at a price of 299 yuan (around $42). The core hardware remains unchanged from the earlier version.
Mijia Cordless Straightening Brush Specs
The Mijia cordless hair straightening brush is designed for portability and everyday convenience. It weighs just 269 grams, which makes it suitable for travel and daily carry. The device supports a dedicated flight mode, allowing users to safely pack it in their luggage. It also features a travel lock switch that prevents accidental activation during transport.
Xiaomi has equipped the brush with two 3200mAh batteries connected in series. On a full charge, it can handle about three to four complete styling sessions, depending on hair length. Typically, short and medium hair can get up to four uses per charge, while long hair averages around three. The device charges via a USB Type-C port and takes approximately three hours to fully charge when using a 5V 3A adapter.
The brush supports three temperature settings: 160°C, 180°C, and 200°C. It uses an MCH ceramic heating element to deliver fast, even, and stable heat across the surface. The ceramic-coated comb teeth aim to minimize heat damage while adding shine to the hair. For additional safety, the brush includes an insulated outer layer that helps prevent burns during use.
Xiaomi also integrates six negative ion outlets into the brush. The company claims that the outlets release tens of millions of negative ions per cubic centimeter during operation. These ions aim to reduce frizz and enhance hair smoothness. Actual ion performance may vary depending on humidity and environmental conditions.
The device features NTC thermal protection and automatically shuts off after 30 minutes of continuous use. It remains lightweight and easy to carry, making it suitable for travel.
