Xiaomi hasn’t said much about its foldable roadmap since launching the Mix Fold 4 in 2024, but a fresh leak suggests the company could be preparing for an unexpected shift.

According to XiaomiTime, a new Xiaomi foldable has appeared in the IMEI database under the model number 26023PN08C, with the codename “pecan.”

Xiaomi 17 Fold incoming?

While model codes aren’t usually interesting, this one reveals a major detail about the upcoming foldable. What makes this interesting is the “PN” in the model number. 

Xiaomi’s Mix Fold lineup so far has used codes with “PX” in them. Mix Fold 4 (24072PX77C), for instance. The “PN” tag, on the other hand, has usually been tied to the company’s main number series, like the Xiaomi 17.

So if the instincts are true, Xiaomi’s next foldable may skip the Mix Fold 5 or Fold 6 branding entirely and instead launch as the Xiaomi 17 Fold.

The company typically introduces its foldables in June, but this device is tipped for a February 2026 debut. It could debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, which is expected around the same time.

On the hardware side, the leak reveals the Xiaomi 17 Fold could feature a 200-megapixel Samsung S5KHP5 main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide (OV50M), and another 50-megapixel auxiliary shooter (OV50M), plus a 16-megapixel front-facing camera (OV16F). That is largely the same setup as the Mix Fold 3. 

For now, the Xiaomi 17 Fold exists only as a database entry. But if Xiaomi really plans to launch it next year, more details are likely to surface through leaks long before the official reveal. We’ll keep an eye out as the picture becomes clearer.
